Alexander Smith is a Principal on Google’s Global Infrastructure & Energy team. He is responsible for leading Google’s long-term infrastructure market development efforts across Asia. Alexander’s primary focus is on developing Google’s data centre and energy location strategy, and negotiating across sectors to deliver scaled digital infrastructure in APAC.
During his tenure at Google, Alexander has held a number of leadership positions, including delivering digital infrastructure in the United States where he led Google Fiber’s Negotiation, Partnerships, and Commercial Procurement teams in New York City and Silicon Valley. He started his career as a commercial lawyer.
Alexander has a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University, a Masters in Law from the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Law (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of International Relations from Bond University. He is based in Sydney where he lives with his wife and three sons.
