Gavin Rennick is SLB’s president of New Energy, a role he assumed in April 2022. Gavin spearheads business and technology innovation, strategic partnerships, and differentiated business models that are essential in tackling the pressing challenges of new energy demand, industrial decarbonization, and critical minerals—paving the way for a sustainable energy future.
He previously served as vice president of Human Resources, president of Software Integrated Solutions, vice president of Drilling Products, integration manager for the Cameron International merger, and geomarket manager for Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.
Gavin began his SLB career in 1998 as a Directional Services drilling engineer in Saudi Arabia, following roles at Shell as a lead electrical engineer and major project manager. His diverse experience spans technical, operational, and strategic management, with assignments in Australia, France, Malaysia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
He holds degrees in electrical engineering and business administration from the University of Western Australia. Gavin also serves on the boards of Genvia, SLB Capturi, John Cockerill Hydrogen, and the Awty International School in Houston and actively supports the United Way of Greater Houston.
