Jan-Arne Johansen is president, Australia for ConocoPhillips.
Johansen joined the company in 1993 as an engineer in Stavanger, Norway. He has progressed through various technical, operational and management roles in Norway, China, Vietnam and the U.S.
In 2010, he was named joint venture manager for partner-operated assets (Heidrun, Oseberg, Statfjord) in Norway. In 2012, he transferred to the role of manager, Planning and Integration in Norway Operations and assumed additional responsibilities as the leader of the Operations and Project Integration team, during the offshore execution of the Ekofisk South and Eldfisk II projects. Johansen was named director, Ekofisk Complex in 2013, and in 2015 he transferred to the role of manager, Eldfisk Operations. He was appointed manager, Greater Ekofisk Area Development in 2017.
In 2018, Johansen assumed the role of general manager, Operated Assets Europe for ConocoPhillips in Norway, responsible for the development and operations of the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea, and the Teesside oil terminal in the U.K.
Johansen earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science & Technology in 1992 and a Master of Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics in 2013.
Johansen is currently a board member of the Australian Energy Producers and member of the Safety Leaders Group for Safety Together in Australia.
