Jane Norman is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Amplitude Energy.

Jane has over 30 years of Australian and global industry experience in energy markets. She began her career with Shell in Europe as a process engineer and later as a commercial advisor. Jane subsequently held corporate finance and capital markets roles with JP Morgan Cazenove and Goldman Sachs in London.

Jane returned to Australia in 2005 to join Santos where she held senior commercial, corporate strategy and Executive Committee roles. She led major strategic initiatives at Santos and played a key role in Santos’ growth strategy, in particular the merger with Oil Search.

Since Jane joined Amplitude Energy in March 2023, the company’s financial and operational performance has significantly improved, with production over 25% higher, unit costs over 35% lower, and group earnings having nearly doubled. During that time the company has completed the large BMG decommissioning program and brought in a new joint-venture partner to commence the East Coast Supply Project, a major new exploration and development project in the Otway Basin.

Jane holds a Bachelor of Science (Pure Mathematics and Chemistry) and Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Diploma in Management and Economics of Natural Gas (Distinction) from the University of Oxford. Jane is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
