Ide is an Executive Managing Officer at MODEC Group with 31 years of professional experience. He began his career in mechanical engineering and design within the automotive sector, before transitioning to project management, where he has spent the majority of his career.
Since joining MODEC in 2000, Ide has dedicated 15 years to project management, successfully delivering Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. From 2010 to 2015, he served as the General Manager of MODEC Singapore, overseeing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) operations.
In 2015, Ide took on the role of Vice President of Operations in Brazil, where MODEC manages over 10 FPSO facilities. He also served as Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) at MODEC do Brazil, leading significant financial and sustainable transformations. Continuing his transformation efforts, Ide is currently spearheading digital innovation to enhance client value throughout MODEC’s business lifecycle, and he holds the position of Chief Digital Officer for MODEC’s global group companies.
In 2021, Ide was appointed as the Group Executive responsible for EPCI across all MODEC projects, based in Singapore. In 2025, following an organizational streamlining, MODEC established the Floating Production System Business Unit, which oversees business development, sales, project development, and EPC turnkey delivery of floating facilities. Ide was appointed as the head of this new business unit.
Additionally, Ide serves on the board of directors for Shape, a digital solutions spin-off company.
Ide holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tokyo.
