Company Profile
The University of Queensland's Gas & Energy Transition Research Centre undertakes independent research to address the complexities and challenges of the energy transition in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
The Centre’s research and engagement aims to support the development of knowledge, policies and practices that will ensure an equitable energy transition and the responsible development of energy resource projects.
The Centre delivers and facilitates interdisciplinary research through four broad themes that reflect the diversity of issues associated with the energy transition: Communities & Coexistence, Environment, Decarbonisation, and Energy Security.
The expertise in these themes is complemented by a network of experts from across UQ and leading international universities, as well as insights gathered through more than a decade of work in Queensland's energy resources sector.
The critical need for research into the role gas may play in the energy transition means that, while the Centre is independent and technology neutral, it leverages world-leading, gas-specific expertise to provide specialised insights in that area.
